Well, like many of you I purchase my Panasonic HVX-200 in hope of becoming a great story teller. And although I love my camera, there are aspects of it that can be improved.

For example, the weak 4pin Fire Wire connector out of the camera. That's where the FireWire Saver (FWS-01) comes in. I developed it after hearing reports that people had damaged their FireWire connector on the camera and had to send their camera to get fixed. My solution was to combine the headphone jack and the FireWire Jack into one to give it more stability. Also creating a bigger surface area to rest on the camera, and on the battery provides more strength.

The FWS-01 will reinforce the FireWire connection to prevent damage to the camera and prevent a disconnection from the Hard Drive to the Camera.

Now this product is only a reinforcement and by no means do we claim that it will prevent all damage of the FireWire connection. (if you kick the FWS-01 while plugged into the camera, you may damage the connection) We have tried the FWS-01 and found that the connection is much stronger and safer with it than without it.
Also this is a small rubber part, and as such it represents a choking hazard for kids. Please do not leave laying around where children may be present.
