A Sci-Fi Short filmed at the Laurel Canyon Studios. The project stars Tim Abell, Ana Alexander, and Todd Lowe and deals with the decision that Tim’s and Ana’s characters have to make when stranded in space on a ship that is losing oxygen fast. “O2″ has won a few awards already and we hope will continue to entertain audiences. This piece is intended to be a Sci-Fi series. We are working with some seasoned writers and it is currently in the hands of some VPs at a few networks for consideration. (Wish us luck!)

Waiting for Decay – Savannah Rose

The Fat Monster crew travelled to the high desert to shoot the performance portion of a music video for the band Waiting for Decay. The band is extremely popular in Southern California and has been getting a lot of buzz on the net. The story part of the video was shot at a location in Hollywood that should dovetail nicely with the set we built for the performance.

The song “Savannah Rose” was conducive to creating an interesting story that was visually pleasing while maintaining and creating a statement that should resonate in today’s society.

I Hate Kate – Always Something

After a frantic time nailing down actors and equipment, Fat Monster Films was able to shoot the second video for the massively popular band I HATE KATE. The band’s label (Glassnote Records) announced the release of the album EMBRACE THE CURSE and decided to make Always Something the lead single to accompany the album release. The concept for the video is a mix of neuroses and ambivalent imagery that provides a disturbing porthole into Fat Monster’s interpretation of the song.

I Hate Kate – Bed of Black Roses

With this project, Fat Monster Films had the pleasure of working with I Hate Kate. The project was filmed in Apple Valley on a set build entirely by Fat Monster Films.

The song deals with the theme of making your decisions and living with them, therefore the video displays a man who is settling in an old decrepit room. The idea is that the trunk that the man is carrying around contains all the memories and decisions that he has made throughout his life. Now, nearing the end, he is content with his life and laying on a “Bed of Black Roses”

Vienna Teng – Gravity

She regularly sells out theaters across the U.S. and Europe, fans travel hundreds of miles to catch a single show, and her opening sets for the likes of India.Arie, Joan Baez and Madeleine Peyroux end in standing ovations.

Fat Monster was privilege to be commissioned to create the video for her song “Gravity”. It was shot on Whidbey Island north of Seattle, and although the location proved to be challenging it was a great experience and we feel the product represents the emotion of the piece perfectly.

MIGGS – Perfect

MIGGS have sold over 20,000 units without any true label support, while making about 150 tour stops across the U.S. in 2007 to support “Late Nights & Early Mornings” (produced with Chris Manning whose credits include Santana, Jellyfish, Third Eye Blind) and sharing the stage with diverse acts such as Train, Cake, and Mandy Moore.

With this kind of success, Fat Monster Films was pleased to be able to work on their recently release song “Perfect”, which has been getting tremendous airplay nationally.

The concept is based on a man creating a perfect woman. Much like in the song, there is a moment in time where we all realize that what initially seems perfect eventually shows its flaws.

With Angels and Fire

Fat Monster Films produced this short film in conjunction with Gunmetal Group. The project was created to be used as a pitch for a military based series. Currently this version is slated to make the rounds at the networks, and a new version is being created to have a festival run. The project was filmed at 3 locations. The desert combat scenes were filmed at Blue Cloud Movie Ranch in Santa Clarita over two days, the interrogation scene at Metamorphosis Metal Shop in East Los Angeles, and the cemetery scene at Los Angeles National Cemetery in West LA.
